Elenium Health was founded by Consultant Neuropsychiatrist Dr Chris Symeon.

The practice was established to create space for integrating mind and body within a rigorous clinical framework.

Our approach is multidisciplinary, integrated and measured.

Dr Chris Symeon

Clinical Director and Consultant Neuropsychiatrist

Chris is a Consultant Neuropsychiatrist with specialist expertise at the interface of neurology and psychiatry. He trained at St Bartholomew's and the London School of Medicine before completing specialist psychiatric training on the South London and Maudsley scheme and an MSc in Neuroscience at King's College London.

He holds a substantive NHS consultant post at St George's University Hospitals, where he is clinical lead for neuropsychiatry at the Wolfson Neurorehabilitation Service — a national specialist centre. His NHS career has spanned The Maudsley, King's College Hospital, Bethlem Royal, and St Thomas' Hospital.

Through Elenium Health, Dr Symeon brings that depth of specialist experience to private practice, offering assessment, rehabilitation, and medico-legal expertise for complex neuropsychiatric presentations.

Beyond clinical practice, Chris has been a trustee of FND Hope and an active advocate for improved FND services at a national level. He is the founder of MyFND, a free self-management app co-designed with people with lived experience, and works as a consultant in digital health and healthtech — advising on the design and implementation of technology-enabled care for neuropsychiatric conditions.

His writing, media appearances, and talks can be found on the Research & Media page.

Helen Clarke

Helen Clarke is a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist at the Wolfson Neurorehabilitation Centre, St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. She graduated in Speech and Language Therapy from the University of Sheffield and has since developed a specialist practice at the intersection of neurology and functional neurological disorder.

She works within the specialist neurorehabilitation multidisciplinary team, providing assessment and intensive rehabilitation for patients with FND and acquired brain injury. Helen has particular expertise in the communication, voice, and swallowing presentations that arise in FND a complex and often under-served area of SLT practice.

She is a recognised educator in the field, co-leading specialist training workshops for SLTs nationally, drawing on current mechanistic models of FND to translate clinical evidence into practice.

Her work at the Wolfson sits at the intersection of neuroscience and rehabilitation, and she brings that integrated, formulation-led approach to her contribution within the Elenium Health team.

Alexandra Simon

Alexandra Simon is a South African-trained Occupational Therapist who has been living and working in London for the past nine years. She began her UK career in NHS neurorehabilitation, where she developed her clinical foundations working within complex multidisciplinary teams managing patients with acquired neurological conditions. Five years ago she transitioned to specialist private practice, where she has continued to build a focused and highly experienced caseload.

Ali's clinical expertise centres on neurorehabilitation, with particular specialisation in traumatic brain injury and Functional Neurological Disorder. In her work with TBI, she brings a comprehensive approach to the cognitive, physical, and psychosocial sequelae that shape functional recovery and long-term independence. Her FND practice reflects a deep understanding of the condition's complexity, the importance of an integrated, formulation-led rehabilitation model that addresses both the neurological and lived-experience dimensions of the disorder.

She contributes to the Elenium Health team as a skilled and experienced clinician whose background spans the full spectrum of neurological rehabilitation, from acute inpatient care to intensive specialist private work.
